The New Media Innovation and Entrepreneurship Lab at Arizona State University’s Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication recently won the National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation’s Excellence in Innovative Technology Award, which honors students who are driving innovation in the media industry. The lab offers Cronkite students the opportunity to design and create cutting-edge media, such as mobile apps, news games and interactive websites. The NABEF recognized Cronkite students for their Cronkite News VR and Cronkite Border VR apps, which utilize virtual reality and 360-degree video documentary storytelling to give people a sense of life on the border. Students will receive the award during the NAB Show NY Conference in November in New York.
