FSL (Foundation for Senior Living) is pleased to announce the acquisition of transportation nonprofit Northwest Valley Connect. The new collaboration will take effect July 1 and service to seniors, veterans and individuals with disabilities will remain uninterrupted.
“The acquisition will ensure that more Northwest Valley residents receive vital transportation services, essential to supporting their physical, mental and financial health,” said Tami Bohannon, president and CEO of FSL. “We look forward to expanding and increasing ridership and strengthening operations to better serve the community. Quality transportation options like Northwest Valley Connect are vital to helping Arizonans age in place.”
As Arizona prepares for an anticipated increase in the aging population, often referred to as the “Silver Tsunami,” the need for comprehensive services is greater than ever. By 2030, older adults will outnumber younger adults in the United States, highlighting the importance of building an age-friendly Arizona.
Northwest Valley Connect has been a lifeline for aging Arizonans without transportation. FSL will continue to offer the same unparalleled service, including wheelchair accessible vans to transport riders to and from medical appointments, the grocery store, run errands or to socialize with friends. This service will join FSL’s existing transportation programs like the Freedom Express in Wickenburg and daily rides to their adult day health centers.
