The boutique real estate law firm Berry Riddell & Rosensteel announced that Wendy Riddell has been appointed to the Maricopa County Board of Adjustment, effective immediately. Riddell was appointed by Maricopa County Supervisor Steve Chucri to represent District 2. Riddell, a graduate of Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor School of Law, is a prominent zoning and land use lawyer with over 15 years experience, representing clients on matters throughout Maricopa County and other parts of the Valley. She was recognized as a Rising Star in the 2013 edition of Super Lawyers and is included in Chambers USA 2014 edition for Zoning and Land Use, recognizing top lawyers around the world.
As a member of the board of adjustment, Riddell will act on requests by citizens to interpret provisions of the zoning ordinance, variances to zoning ordinance standards and appeals for use permits for temporary uses or temporary events. All actions are taken at a public hearing. A decision of the Board is final and may be appealed only to Superior Court.
Riddell is actively involved in professional and community organizations in the Phoenix metropolitan area. She is a graduate of Scottsdale Leadership, served on the City of Scottsdale District Advisory Task Force and the City of Phoenix Development Process Ad Hoc Task Force. Riddell is passionate about improving education in Arizona, and currently serves as the president of the school board of Christ Church School, and is a board member of Pioneer Preparatory Academy, Hirsch Academy and the facilities board for Xavier College Preparatory.
