ONE Community, a Valley-based business coalition, is hosting a free virtual career fair March 25, 2021, that is open to the public and Valley job seekers. Hosted in partnership with BestCompaniesAZ, a local company specializing in workplace culture and employer branding, the Virtual Diversity Career Expo connects Arizona residents with award-winning employers who are revolutionizing workplace diversity and inclusion initiatives within their company. The event will feature companies that are locally and nationally recognized and currently hiring in Arizona, such as Axon, Farmers Insurance Group, Fry’s Food Stores and more.
The topic of diversity in the workplace is nothing new, but as more individuals, organizations, and business leaders speak about feminism, immigration, gender identity and the gender pay gap, workplace diversity, equity and inclusion is more important than ever. Additionally, studies show that cultivating a diversity-committed company culture attracts and retains top talent, improves employee productivity, increases job satisfaction, builds team comradery, accelerates employee career growth, and strengthens a company’s ROI.
With the mission to foster a sustainable workforce and diverse-committed business community, the Virtual Diversity Career Expo will feature inspiring panel discussions from various business leaders who are redefining what it means to “belong” in today’s workforce. The panelists will share personal stories and discuss how companies are cultivating a sense of equity for employees with the mission to educate, promote and foster a diverse-committed workforce and build career pathways for job seekers who value an inclusive company culture. The event aims to not only connect job seekers with employment opportunities, but provide a space for employers to learn about best practices and programs for diversity and inclusion, as well.
Virtual Diversity Career Expo Open to All Valley Job Seekers
Hosted by ONE Community and BestCompaniesAZ, the Virtual Diversity Career Expo features award winning, diversity-committed companies that are now hiring and seeking diverse talent in Arizona. Event attendees can discuss employment opportunities with more than 20 Arizona companies that are currently hiring and recognized for their diversity, equity and inclusivity company culture, employee benefits and workplace programs. Hiring companies at the event value diverse communities and are championing equity in the workplace, earning them prestigious awards such as Fortune 100’s Best Workplaces for Diversity, Best Places to work for LGBTQ Equality, Forbes The Best Employers for New Grads and Best Employers for Women.
At the Virtual Diversity Career Expo, attendees can breakthrough conventional hiring barriers and engage with employers directly. Attendees can submit their resume directly online at www.diversityaz.org allowing hiring companies participating in the event to immediately access and review applicant’s credentials and schedule interviews. At the event, attendees can also explore open positions, schedule one-on-one interviews with employers and hiring managers of their choice, attend virtual seminars, and have personalized, private chats with company leaders to learn more about each company’s careers and culture.
Company representatives from the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Talent Acquisition teams from more than 20 Valley companies will be on-site to virtually interview job seekers on the spot, as well. Open positions and career opportunities available at the event range from Sales, Customer Service, Technology, Engineering, Marketing, Case Management, Clinical, Pharmaceutical, Finance, Accounting, HR and more.
The event will also feature six panelists including Farmers Insurance Group, Fry’s Food Stores, Design Pickle and Arizona’s Children Association. The panelists will share personal anecdotes about their workplace diversity and inclusion journey, how it has positively impacted their career and job satisfaction, and the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion at their company and in the community. The event will share examples and the ongoing benefits of building a diversity-committed company, such as LGBTQ, Parenting, Veteran, Minority and Mature Workforce employee resource groups, employee benefits, mentorship and advocacy programs offered at these award-winning companies committed to hiring and retaining diverse talent.
