Facilitating opportunities in the growing gig economy, the mobile app called Shiftgig connects businesses with people who want to work short-term jobs or shifts — such as those who manned many positions at local stadiums for Spring Training. In fact, Intuit released a study earlier this year (its second annual “Dispatches from the New Economy: The On-Demand Workforce”) that found 3.9 million Americans are now working in the on-demand or gig economy primarily to supplement existing income, fill near-term financial needs and build a sustainable future. Shiftgig enables them to have flexibility over their schedules and to decide which jobs they are most interested in working.
