Employees from Voya Financial, Inc. recently gathered in Chandler, Arizona, to volunteer at the Children’s Cancer Network, and they brought a surprise along with them – a $10,000 donation from Voya Foundation.
Voya’s Arizona employees have had a long-standing relationship with the Children’s Cancer Network (CCN), which provides assistance to Arizona families battling childhood cancer. “We are so passionate about Children’s Cancer Network and love to assist in whatever way possible,” said Todd Modic, who is the Senior Vice President of Mutual Funds Administration at Voya, and Vice President of the Children’s Cancer Network Board of Directors. “It was so moving to see the joy and appreciation on the face of Patti Luttrell, executive director of CCN, as we presented her with a check for $10,000 from Voya Foundation.”
The check was presented to the Children’s Cancer Network on October 18, 2023. Voya employees won the ability to allocate the funds to the nonprofit of their choice after winning an internal contest that was held during our annual National Days of Service, where nearly 4,000 employees volunteered over 13,200 hours to support nonprofits across the country.
During the Children’s Cancer Network volunteer event, employees spent the day decorating boxes for the upcoming Adopt-a-Family Toy Drive, moving supplies from a storage unit to their main facility and setting up for a kids’ program that was held on site later that evening.
In the last five years, Voya and its employees have donated more than $180,000 and volunteered more than 2,400 hours to support the Children’s Cancer Network and its beneficiaries.
