Venezia’s Pizzeria donated $1 for every pizza sold from Aug. 17-19, 2020 to United Food Bank. The pizzeria reached their goal, raising $5,000, to provide 25,000 meals to local families in need.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support we received during the last few months, and we wanted to show our gratitude by giving back to those who need it most right now,” said Domenick Montanile, owner and president of Venezia’s Pizzeria. “Food insecurity is a huge problem right now so we just had to do our part to help.”
Each pizza purchased at Venezia’s five Valley locations over the three-day period helped provide five nutritious meals to feed hungry children, seniors and families in Arizona. This donation comes at a crucial time when aid is needed most to provide hunger relief in our local community.
“Due to this pandemic, more than one in six Arizonans and one in four children are facing hunger, and demand is growing as our local economy continues to recover,” said Dave Richins, president and CEO of United Food Bank. “We are thankful for the support of Venezia’s and their customers, in helping us feed hungry Arizonans.”
