Florence Crittenton Services of Arizona, an affiliate nonprofit agency of Chicanos Por La Causa, is excited to announce that Thunderbirds Charities has committed to matching donations up to a total of $100,000. These donations will be used to make much needed improvements to residential homes for girls on their road to recovery.
“Through this generous donation Florence Crittenton Services of Arizona will be able to replace all residential HVAC systems which house a very vulnerable population. Ensuring a comfortable and predictable living environment supports the safety within our mission of providing safety, hope, and opportunity to each girl’s life we touch. We appreciate Thunderbirds Charities for being a part of our community impact,” said Amy Holstein, Director of Florence Crittenton.
The matching grant award, along with other individual donations, will allow Florence Crittenton to purchase or repair four HVAC systems at its therapeutic group home which provides emergency short-term shelter and long-term support to at risk girls and young women. In addition, the funding will help purchase and install or repair HVAC systems at the permanent supportive housing, which provides a home to young women, ages-18-25, to live independently while learning to become self-sufficient.
Florence Crittenton serves girls and young women ages 10-25, with a mission to provide every girl whose life we touch with safety, hope and opportunity. Florence Crittenton provides emergency shelter, residential housing, healthcare, education, counseling and social support programs.
CPLC has worked with Thunderbirds Charities in the past. We appreciate their generous matching donation for $70,000 last year to CPLC De Colores Domestic Violence Shelter and $250,000 combined donation to support improvements at CPLC Early Head Start centers in 2019 and in 2015.
Since 1896, Florence Crittenton Services of Arizona has fostered the successful healing and recovery of girls who have endured periods of physical and sexual victimization, chronic neglect, homelessness, poverty, teen pregnancy, drug abuse and mental health struggles.
