Former General Counsel Scott Ryan Joins Business-Minded Polsinelli Expanding National Construction Presence

National law firm Polsinelli welcomes Scott C. Ryan to its national Construction, Energy, Real Estate Litigation Practice as shareholder. Ryan, who will practice in Phoenix, has an extensive career in construction. He spent 10 years as general counsel and a corporate officer for large national and global construction companies that executed more than$10 billion in projects. He was responsible for all legal and risk management aspects of day-to-day business operations.

“Scott’s experience managing and directing the legal matters of very large construction companies and their subsidiaries adds a valuable business component to his legal counsel.” said Roy Bash, who chairs the Construction, Energy, Real Estate Litigation Practice. “His in-depth industry knowledge will bring additional depth and value to our national construction practice.”

Ryan is experienced in large fast-track construction projects, negotiating complex contracts, defending claims, providing on-project risk management and contract management oversight, counseling on contractual obligations, and prosecuting bad faith and coverage actions. He joins a national practice that stretches from Los Angeles to Washington, D.C. and includes nearly 30 attorneys who advise clients on issues related to complex construction matters.

Ryan is a member of the American Bar Association Forum on the Construction Industry. He earned his M.S. in Construction Engineering and a B.S. in Construction Engineering from Arizona State University. He earned his law degree from DePaul University College of Law with a certificate in patent law. He is licensed to practice in Arizona and Illinois.
