License plates are more than car identification. In Arizona, the choices of personalized plates from the Department of Transportation offer car owners the opportunity to support their team (there seem to be a lot of Cardinals fans in Phoenix), or create awareness for causes (Honoring Fallen Officers, It shouldn’t hurt to be a child). People have also been known to choose a license plate for its aesthetics — such as Arizona Agriculture, whose design is a chic textured black with the Future Farmers of America logo modestly reposing in the upper left corner.
