Arizona Governor Doug Ducey has proclaimed October as Careers in Construction Science Technology Professions Month. The Proclamation coincides with Build Your Future Arizona’s new online Career Center. Build Your Future Arizona was launched in 2019 by the Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation, in an effort to increase awareness of job opportunities in construction, which can often include paid training, continuing education and high salaries.
“In continuing our mission to create a sustainable skilled craft workforce by raising awareness about high-paying construction careers and training opportunities, we recently launched a new online Career Center,” said Jennifer Mellor, Chief Innovation Officer, Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation. “The Career Center connects individuals searching for career opportunities in construction with companies across the state that are actively hiring skilled craft positions. This is another step toward enhancing the talent pipeline and building a stronger Arizona workforce.”
Arizona ranks as the sixth fastest growing state in 2020, boosting its population by nearly 3 percent. Although highways might move a little slower, this kind of significant growth is great for our local economy. Welcoming 200,000+ new Arizonans means that businesses have more customers, local government gets more funding and most importantly, construction booms to provide housing, commercial and recreational venues.
Skilled craft positions are in high demand in Arizona, currently there are more than 145,000 available positions. The new online Career Center is easy to navigate. Job seekers can search by category or featured employers and sign up for job alerts here.
