FOUND:RE Contemporary and FOUND:RE Phoenix Hotel will unveil “Too Cute,” a new studio exhibition inspired by Japanese kawaii culture, with an opening reception Friday, October 16, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. at FOUND Phoenix Hotel, 1100 N. Central Ave. in downtown Phoenix.
Featuring works by multiple artists, the exhibition draws on the visual language of kawaii and its roots in postwar Japanese art and design. Softness, sentimentality and childlike wonder take center stage, with works that treat cuteness as a serious artistic perspective while deliberately pushing past the edge of comfort.
Participating artists include Regina Alexandra, Jeremy Bruno, Mickey Calata, Kimberly Callahan, Tumbleweed Flower, Jo Ho, Mecca Hunter, Hannah Ide, Tomoki Ide, Stardust Mansion, Susan Millan, Destiny Ann Montoya, Kiti My, Mori “Acrylic Ninja” Pablo, Roberto Ruiz, Laura Serna, LAS Illustra, shytxwn, Such Styles and Wei Wei.
“Too Cute” will remain on display in the studio space at FOUND Phoenix Hotel through Sunday, April 11, 2027. The exhibition is part of FOUND Contemporary’s regular schedule of rotating exhibitions.
