Sundt Construction, Inc., one of the country’s largest general contractors, announced the promotion of Cade Rowley to President and Chief Executive Officer. Rowley, formerly President and Chief Operating Officer, succeeds Mike Hoover, who has transitioned to the role of Executive Chairman after serving as CEO since 2016.
“Cade’s promotion to CEO is a milestone not just for his career, but for Sundt as a whole,” said Hoover. “I’ve had the privilege of working alongside him for nearly three decades and have seen firsthand the vision, drive, and character he brings to every challenge. I have no doubt he will continue to build on our legacy and lead Sundt to even greater success in the years ahead.”
Prior to being named President and COO in 2024, Rowley served as President of Sundt’s Industrial Group, which nearly tripled in volume to over $1.3 billion in annual revenue in less than three years. Under Rowley’s leadership Sundt has become a known expert in multiple industrial construction sectors including water/wastewater, heavy industrial and mining, and advanced facilities. Rowley also played an instrumental role in the company’s successful expansion from a regionally focused contractor to a national presence with offices and jobsites in more than two dozen states.
Rowley joined Sundt in 1998 as a field engineer in the company’s Heavy Civil (now Transportation) Group and subsequently advanced through multiple roles in business development, preconstruction and operations. He served as Senior Vice President of Sundt’s Transportation Group before being tapped to lead the Industrial Group in 2022. Rowley holds a degree in civil engineering from Arizona State University and is a registered Professional Engineer.
Active in both the construction industry and the community, Rowley serves on the Board of Directors for The Beavers, a heavy civil organization that supports and promotes heavy engineering construction and works to encourage college students to pursue careers in heavy construction. He is also Co-Chair of the Transportation Task Force for Greater Phoenix Leadership. Previously, he has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arizona Chapter of the Associated General Contractors (AGC) of America and as a member of the Board of Governors and Political Action Committee Board of Trustees for the national AGC.
