Nation’s Largest Residential Brokerage Elevates Two Leaders to Drive Arizona Growth

Compass, the nation’s largest residential real estate brokerage by sales volume, announces two new leadership appointments to solidify its continued strategic growth in Arizona.  Stephanie Gonzalez (left) will assume the role of regional vice president, overseeing Compass’ ongoing expansion across the state while empowering and supporting the brokerage’s local agent population. Annie McGeorge (right), who helped steer North&Co. through its 2024 merger with Compass and has since worked to unite the companies’ financial, operational and technological systems, will become Compass Arizona’s new director of operations.

Gonzalez, a real estate veteran with more than 25 years of experience spanning sales, service, management and executive leadership, will work closely with Compass Arizona’s real estate professionals, advocating for their needs and identifying opportunities to help them grow their businesses. Before relocating to Arizona in 2005, she worked in Beverly Hills and held an executive leadership role with Coldwell Banker in the San Francisco Bay Area. She later spent nine years with Realty Executive before joining North&Co. as president in 2014 and became CEO and principal partner in 2017, helping lead the brokerage’s operations and strategic growth for more than a decade.

Her longstanding relationships within the organization and extensive knowledge of the industry position her to serve as both a valuable resource for agents and a strong voice for their interests as Compass Arizona continues to grow.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to formally take on this larger role with Compass Arizona and to work even more closely with our agents,” Gonzalez said. “I’m squarely focused on listening to them, understanding what’s working and where we can find ways to make things work better for them so that they can in turn focus on providing outstanding client experiences to buyers and sellers across Arizona.”

While Gonzalez’s efforts will focus largely on Compass Arizona’s agents and their businesses, McGeorge’s new duties involve overseeing the operations that support them.

“Growth creates opportunities, but it also increases complexity, and I’ve always enjoyed figuring out how to manage both,” McGeorge said. “This new role allows me to build on the work we’ve already done while looking closely at where we can make things work even better for our agents and employees.”

McGeorge most recently served as Vice President of Finance and Technology for Compass Arizona, building on her previous role with North&Co. that began in 2021 when she joined as Chief Financial Officer, later becoming Chief Operating Officer. With deep oversight of the brokerage’s finances, operations and technology, she played a key role in guiding North&Co.’s merger with Compass and, afterward, led the rollout of Compass technology across Arizona while helping integrate legacy operations. As Director of Operations, McGeorge will now build on that experience by supporting Compass Arizona’s real estate professionals and employees with the resources they need to succeed.

“Stephanie and Annie bring different strengths to these roles, but what they share is a strong understanding of our business and the people behind it,” said President of Compass Neda Navab. “Stephanie knows this industry, our agents and what they need to grow, while Annie has an incredible ability to manage the operational complexities that come with running a business of this size. They’re both stepping into roles that allow them to do what they do best, and that’s a big win for our agents, employees, and consumers across Arizona.”
