The Phoenix Philanthropy Group is pleased to announce that Cheryl House, CFRE, will assume the leadership position of Executive Vice President for the firm. The promotion exemplifies Cheryl’s passion for philanthropy, outstanding leadership abilities, and drive to help The Phoenix Philanthropy Group’s clients achieve success and optimize impact.
“Many of our clients who have worked with Cheryl know how talented and committed she is,” says Richard Tollefson, Phoenix Philanthropy founder and president. “In her new executive role, Cheryl will work closely with our consultants, and me, helping drive our client, corporate, and community strategy, engagement, service, and impact. This will allow me to continue my focus on thought-leadership initiatives to share our knowledge and expertise with our clients, the nonprofit community, and the philanthropic sector as a whole.”
Cheryl will continue to work with her existing clients while expanding her role to bring her expert guidance to existing and new projects. “I’m excited at the opportunity to work even more closely with such an amazing and diverse group of clients who are truly making a difference in our communities,” she relates.
Cheryl’s passion for positively impacting people’s lives is demonstrated on a day-to-day basis, working side-by-side with CEOs, chief development officers, and board members to help them sharpen their skills and develop innovative solutions to take their fundraising efforts to the next level.
Over her career, Cheryl has held several executive development positions at the University of Arizona, University of Arizona Health Sciences, the UA Foundation, and Pima Community College Foundation, where she built and implemented innovative programs and initiatives that moved these organizations forward and generated philanthropic support to achieve mission-driven results.
During her tenure at UArizona, she was instrumental in helping the College of Pharmacy secure its first $1 million gift and recently saw an alumnus she had worked with years earlier make a $50 million gift.
Cheryl is a past recipient of the Outstanding Fundraising Executive award from the Southern Arizona chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and was recently named a Laureate for the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). Both awards are high honors in the nonprofit sector and recognize Cheryl’s expertise and dedication to philanthropy.
