The State Forty Eight Foundation is thrilled to announce the appointment of Marina Sandoval as its new Executive Director. With a commitment to supporting entrepreneurs and small business owners across Arizona, the State Forty Eight Foundation welcomes Sandoval, a dynamic multicultural leader, to lead the organization into a new era of growth and impact.

Marina’s inspiration for serving as a nonprofit leader was born during her time as a Community Economic Development volunteer in the Peace Corps, where she advised small businesses in Peru and facilitated workshops to empower women economically. Throughout her career, both locally and internationally, she has continued to support entrepreneurs in various capacities, making her a valuable addition to the State Forty Eight Foundation.

“We selected Marina from a very impressive pool of candidates,” says Mike Spangenberg, Chairman of the Board for the State Forty Eight Foundation. ”Her extensive background in nonprofit management and her dedication to fostering a culture of collaboration and impact have made her an exceptional choice for this leadership position.”

Before coming on board with State Forty Eight Foundation, Sandoval was the Director of Strategic Partnerships with Valleywise Health Foundation. She brings a wealth of experience in philanthropy, strategic partnership development, and community-building to the role of Executive Director. Sandoval holds a Master of Nonprofit Leadership and Management from Arizona State University, and her passion for supporting entrepreneurs is evident in her remarkable career

“I’m thrilled and honored to be part of an organization that works relentlessly to support Arizona entrepreneurs,” says Sandoval. “Our state is among the top in the nation for innovation and startups. The State Forty Eight Foundation fuels the entrepreneurial spirit and serves as a catalyst for this growing community. I look forward to supporting the foundation’s impressive momentum and partnering with other community leaders to expand its impact.”

On Thursday, October 19, the community is invited to attend “Beyond Business: Brews, Bites and Building Community”, a free-to-attend networking event at Four Peaks’ Wilson Tasting Room from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Hosted by the State Forty Eight Foundation, this event offers a unique opportunity for local entrepreneurs and community members to connect with Sandoval, engage with fellow Arizona business owners, and gain insights into the organization’s initiatives to enhance the local entrepreneurial ecosystem.
