Serendipit Consulting, a local full-service creative and public relations agency, announced recently that its employees donated $6,200 to Boys & Girls Clubs Of The Valley (BGCAZ). Employees were able to do so through an Employer Tax Credit Program utilizing the Contributions to Qualifying Charitable Organizations (QCO). The State of Arizona program allows taxpayers the ability to support a non-profit financially for which they will get a dollar-for-dollar tax credit without losing any take-home pay. About half of the company’s employees participated. Through the program, Serendipit’s employees were able to direct their tax dollars, up to $400 individually or up to $800 filing jointly, to Boys & Girls Clubs Of The Valley instead of the state.
“Boys & Girls Clubs Of The Valley are constant creators doing incredible work for children and teens across the state, and deserve the utmost support to do so,” said Andrew Leger, the director of brand strategy at Serendipit Consulting and CONNECT member of the Boys And Girls Clubs Of The Valley. “Together with Tim Emory of Boys & Girls Clubs Of The Valley, we brought this idea to help generate additional donations to the Serendipit team just over a year ago. There was zero hesitation from employees and I am so proud of our team for stepping up to make a difference in our community”
Boys & Girls Clubs Of The Valley has been creating equity and opportunity for Arizona’s youth for about 75 years. Their main goal is to help children develop strong character and leadership skills. Additionally, they offer affordable after-school and summer programs for over 16,000 children and teens in kindergarten through 12th grade.
“We at the Boys & Girls Clubs Of The Valley are extremely grateful for Serendipit’s employees stepping up to support our organization,” said Tim Emory, director of partnership relations at Boys & Girls Clubs Of The Valley. “We are excited our community partners from Serendipit understood this benefit of helping each employee give hundreds of dollars without giving a single penny out-of-pocket. Their generous donation allows us the ability to help hundreds of kids directly by taking advantage of the QCO.”
Serendipit has 13 of its 29 employees participating in 2021 with an estimated donation of $8,000.
