Fiesta Bowl Charities continues to be a leader in college football for community impact, surpassing the $3 million mark for its charitable giving in the 2022-2023 season. Donations will benefit 40 nonprofit organizations across the state of Arizona who serve audiences in youth, sports and education.

Through the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl, Guaranteed Rate Bowl, Fiesta Bowl Parade presented by Lerner & Rowe and various community events throughout the year, Fiesta Bowl Charities has granted nearly $23 million in charitable giving the last seven years alone and approximately $28 million to the Arizona community in the last 12 years.

“The Fiesta Bowl’s “More Than Just A Game®” is not just a tagline, it’s how we make a difference in the lives of Arizonans every day in the areas of youth, sports and education,” said Randal Norton, Chair of the Fiesta Bowl Board of Directors. “Our annual events help support statewide nonprofits who provide a wide-range of programs that are truly inspiring to our Foundation, volunteers and fans. When you witness firsthand how these deserving charities deliver to their beneficiaries, it validates our mission and motivates us to do more.”

This is the fifth consecutive season that Fiesta Bowl Charities has donated $3 million or more to nonprofits and teachers across Arizona, the most of any college football bowl organization on an annual basis. Nonprofit organizations receive grants at one of three different tiers: Spirit of the Fiesta Bowl Grant at $100,000, Touchdown Grant at $50,000 and the Field Goal Grant at $25,000.

The tiered funding model allows Fiesta Bowl Charities to make a larger impact through each organization granted, focusing on the depth of the impact. In addition, smaller Fiesta Bowl Charities grants are available for nonprofits who have funding needs that arise during the year, with the guidelines posted at FiestaBowl.org/Charities.

Aligning with the Fiesta Bowl’s vision of being “More Than Just A Game,” Fiesta Bowl Charities has committed $1 million for its Fiesta Bowl Charities Wishes for Teachers program, with 400 teachers to receive $2,500 each. Over the six years of the program, Fiesta Bowl Charities Wishes for Teachers has granted $4.7 million to 1,200 Arizona teachers, impacting more than 500,000 students across the state.

Since 1971, the Fiesta Bowl is a world-class community organization that executes innovative experiences, drives economic growth and champions charitable causes, inspiring pride in all Arizonans during and outside of college football bowl season. As a nonprofit organization, it is driven by its vision for the importance of community outreach and service. Through the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl, Guaranteed Rate Bowl and its year-round events, such as the Fiesta Bowl Parade presented by Lerner & Rowe, corporate partnerships and numerous community events throughout the year, the organization provides charitable giving to enhance Arizona nonprofit organizations that serve communities through youth, sports and education.
