Dr. Bryan Gawley
Owner
Gawley Companies
Sector: Healthcare
At Gawley Companies, giving back has always been part of who we are. As our organization continued to grow, we realized we wanted our philanthropic efforts to grow with it. Creating Unicorn Philanthropy allowed us to establish a dedicated foundation that could bring greater purpose, consistency and long-term impact to the charitable work we were already passionate about.
Rather than supporting causes on an individual basis, we wanted a centralized way to build meaningful partnerships, involve our team and create opportunities to make a measurable difference throughout our community. Unicorn Philanthropy enables us to focus our efforts on organizations and initiatives that align with our values while encouraging our employees to actively participate in service and giving.
We believe healthcare extends far beyond the patients we care for in our practices. It also means supporting the well-being of the communities where we live and work. By creating Unicorn Philanthropy, we established a lasting commitment to compassion, service and community leadership. Our hope is that the foundation continues to inspire generosity, foster meaningful connections and create positive change for many years to come.

Terri Hoffman
President & Chief Philanthropy Officer
St. Joseph’s Foundation
Sector: Healthcare
St. Joseph’s Hospital was established more than 130 years ago. The Sisters of Mercy were the very first fundraisers for the hospital, and in 1985 the St. Joseph’s Foundation was formally established to ensure the community donations were captured and recognized tangibly. Over the years, the foundation has evolved into a major conduit for all philanthropic efforts at St. Joseph’s Hospital; Dignity Health Medical Group; Dignity Health Cancer Institute at St. Joseph’s; and the Norton Thoracic Institute, home of one of the best lung transplant programs in the country.
The foundation is an essential component for all philanthropic efforts, as we work with grateful patients as well as philanthropic-minded community members to serve our uninsured and underserved population in Phoenix. The most vulnerable in our county, who would not otherwise seek critical health care, are supported by our foundation fundraising efforts, as this aligns with our mission and values. St. Joseph’s Foundation also raises dollars for cutting-edge research and medical care technology.
Terri Hoffman is president and chief philanthropy officer for St. Joseph’s Foundation, where she is responsible for developing and directing all aspects of philanthropic fundraising for Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, Dignity Health – Cancer Institute at St. Joseph’s and St. Joseph’s Westgate Medical Center. She has more than three decades of experience in securing major gifts and implementing multimillion-dollar fundraising strategies.
Olga Phillips
Founder
Phillips Law Foundation
Sector: Law
For me, creating the Phillips Law Foundation was about making our commitment to the community intentional, sustainable and lasting. Giving back has always been part of who we are as a firm, but I wanted to build something that could grow beyond individual donations or one-time projects. A dedicated foundation allows us to develop meaningful partnerships, support organizations year after year and create opportunities for our employees, clients and community to make a difference together.
Our mission has never been about simply writing checks. It is about investing in people, building relationships and supporting causes that create real, lasting change. Whether we are helping children in foster care, supporting survivors, improving road safety or providing resources to families in need, we want to be present and involved.
The Foundation also reflects the values that have guided Phillips Law Group for more than three decades. We are fortunate to be in a position to help others, and I believe that success carries a responsibility to strengthen the communities that have trusted and supported us along the way.
Olga Phillips is the founder of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Phillips Law Foundation. She launched the nonprofit foundation in 2022 to empower those in need through compassion, action and justice. With a dedicated team of law professionals, clients and supporters, PLF provides safety and hope for those who are disadvantaged. The work is centered on supporting children and foster children, empowering women, fighting homelessness and ensuring that every individual has the opportunity to succeed.
Brandon B. Rafi
Founder & CEO, Rafi Law Group
Founder & CEO, Rafi Law Services
Sector: Law
For me, giving back has never been about writing checks. It’s about showing up.
Since founding Rafi Law Group, I’ve believed that if we’re fortunate enough to build a successful business, we also have a responsibility to invest in the communities that make that success possible. Over the years, our team volunteered thousands of hours and supported countless organizations, but eventually it became clear that what we were building had grown beyond individual acts of service.
Creating our nonprofit was the natural next step. It gives us a dedicated platform to make a bigger, more lasting impact while inviting our employees, clients, partners and the community to be part of that mission. It also creates accountability and ensures that this work continues well into the future.
The name “Rafi’s Hope” reflects what we want every effort to provide: hope for children, families and individuals facing difficult circumstances. My hope is that long after people remember the cases we’ve handled, they’ll remember the lives we’ve helped change. That’s the legacy that matters most to me.
Brandon B. Rafi is the founder and CEO of Rafi Law Group, Arizona’s premier personal injury law firm. Since founding the firm in 2015, he has grown it into one of the state’s most recognized legal brands, serving nearly 100,000 Arizonans. He also launched Rafi Law Services to support continued growth and remains committed to strengthening Arizona communities through philanthropy and service.
Kevin Rowe
Founder & Principal
Lerner and Rowe, P.C.
Sector: Law
Lerner & Rowe Gives Back began nearly 20 years ago as something much more personal than a corporate initiative — it started as a family project between my young daughter and me. I wanted to teach her the importance of giving back, and what began as a father-daughter effort quickly grew into a multi-generational commitment to serving others.
Seeing the impact philanthropy had on both our community and our relationship inspired me to make giving back a core part of Lerner & Rowe Injury Attorneys by establishing a dedicated philanthropic foundation. I realized that, while individual acts of kindness can create meaningful change, creating a formal foundation would allow us to expand our impact, engage our employees and build stronger partnerships throughout the community.
Today, Lerner & Rowe Gives Back donates more than $1 million annually to Arizona nonprofits, has contributed more than 4,600 employee volunteer hours, and partners with hundreds of nonprofit organizations. The foundation is built on a simple belief: While one person can make a difference, together we can move mountains.
As founder and principal of Lerner and Rowe, P.C., Kevin Rowe has dedicated his career to helping injury victims rebuild their lives after devastating circumstances. Through compassionate advocacy and a commitment to justice, he has assisted tens of thousands of clients in achieving peace of mind and financial security. His leadership and legal expertise have helped secure more than $1 billion in settlements and verdicts for injured individuals.
