Benevilla Names New Chief Operating Officer

Benevilla, a leading nonprofit dedicated to enriching the lives of older adults, adults with disabilities, and caregivers, is pleased to announce the appointment of Kristen Wilson as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). With more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit financial management, operations, and strategic planning, Wilson will play a key role in driving the organization’s growth and sustainability.

As COO, Wilson will oversee Benevilla’s financial management, human resources, program operations, and strategic development. She will work closely with President and CEO Joanne Byers to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen financial oversight, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Wilson’s leadership will be instrumental in optimizing resources, fostering community partnerships, and advancing Benevilla’s mission.

Prior to joining Benevilla, Wilson served as the CEO of AZ Impact for Good, where she successfully led a major merger, rebranding, and membership expansion, increasing revenue and strengthening organizational sustainability. She also held executive roles overseeing financial operations, board engagement, grant compliance, and risk management, ensuring long-term fiscal responsibility and growth.

Wilson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master of Leadership from Grand Canyon University and is currently pursuing a Master of Accounting. She is a Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional (CNAP) and a Certified Association Executive (CAE). Her leadership has been recognized with numerous accolades, including Arizona Capitol Times’ Leader of the Year and InBusiness Magazine’s Women of Achievement.
