A strong mission can change a community, but lasting impact takes more than passion alone. That idea is at the heart of the Nonprofit Blueprint, a new cohort-based program launched this year by the Chandler Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the City of Chandler. Created to strengthen emerging nonprofits, the program helps local organizations build the systems, knowledge and connections they need to grow sustainably.
Nonprofits play a significant role in both Chandler’s community and Arizona’s economy. More than 1,000 nonprofit organizations serve Chandler residents, providing resources and services ranging from youth development and food security to housing, mental health, arts, senior services and more. Across Arizona, the nonprofit sector employs more than 222,000 people and contributes approximately 8% of the state’s Gross State Product.
While their missions may be different, many growing nonprofits face similar challenges. Limited staff capacity, inconsistent funding, governance needs and challenges communicating impact can make it difficult for organizations to grow while continuing to serve their communities. The Nonprofit Blueprint was designed to help address those challenges with practical education, resources and connections.
The program brings together nonprofit professionals, civic leaders and business experts for five in-person training sessions focused on topics that include strategy, governance, funding, communications and organizational development. Participants learn alongside other nonprofit leaders, creating a cohort experience that encourages collaboration and relationships beyond the classroom. Each participating organization also receives a complimentary one-year Chandler Chamber of Commerce membership, and organizations that complete the program are eligible to receive a $5,000 grant to help put what they have learned into action.

The inaugural 2026 cohort includes 15 Chandler-area organizations representing a wide range of causes, including youth leadership, financial literacy, homelessness prevention, survivor support, adaptive recreation, animal rescue and senior services.
By investing in the organizations already doing important work throughout Chandler, the Nonprofit Blueprint is helping turn strong missions into stronger organizations, giving local nonprofits the foundation they need to grow their impact for years to come.
