Local First Arizona announced a partnership with O.H.S.O., the well-established local craft brewery, distillery and restaurant group, to create a limited edition beer to showcase delicious local ingredients and hometown pride. The Sonoran Sipper is a cream ale with hibiscus lime zest featuring a variety of locally sourced ingredients.

The Sonoran Sippers malted barley comes from Sossaman Farms in Queen Creek, a 100-year-old family farm that’s evolving into the 21st century by opening Homestead Malting, adding malt processing power that means beer can go from seed to stein entirely in the Valley. The lively magenta hibiscus is sourced from Shamba AZ, an urban farm in North Phoenix known for ultra-nutritious micro greens with sourcing made possible by Sun Produce Cooperative, a local food aggregator and distributor working since 2017 to increase access to healthy local food, particularly for underserved children and adults, while growing the capacity and viability of smaller-acreage Arizona Farms.

“Local First’s collaboration with O.H.S.O. is a testament to the community spirit of the craft beer industry here in Arizona,” said Kimber Lanning, CEO and founder of Local First Arizona. “By sourcing local ingredients, we created something that reflects the best of Arizona and we’re excited to share this innovative brew with the state.”

The Sonoran Sipper will debut Saturday, October 25 at all O.H.S.O locations and will be available at the 2025 Arizona Fall Fest, taking place Saturday, November 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Margaret T. Hance Park in Downtown Phoenix. The event will host more than 250 local vendors, featuring crafts, activities, games and flavors from 70+ local restaurants, breweries and distilleries in the expanded food court and beverage garden.

The joint beer between Local First and O.H.S.O is set to raise money for Local First Arizona through the “Give Back” campaign. One hundred percent of every Sonoran Sipper sold at Arizona Fall Fest will be donated to the organization. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds from the Sonoran Sipper release party at the O.H.S.O. Sunnyslope location on Thursday, October 23 from 4 – 8 p.m. will benefit Local First Arizona.

“This collaboration with Local First Arizona is about more than just a great beer, it’s about supporting a cause that is vital to our community. A portion of the proceeds from  Sonoran Sipper will help to build a stronger and more inclusive economy in Arizona and we are honored to use our craft to give back,” said Jon Lane, owner of O.H.S.O. Brewery + Distillery.

OHSO, which stands for Outrageous Homebrewer’s Social Outpost, boasts 10 locations with two more on the way.
