Questar Fueling Starts Work on CNG-Fueling Station in Phoenix

Questar Fueling Company, subsidiary of Questar Corporation, plans to build a compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling station in Phoenix, Ariz. The public-access station will provide fast-fill CNG fueling for fleet operators with medium- and heavy-duty trucks as well as motorists who drive light-duty natural gas vehicles. The station will open later this year.

“We see Phoenix as a strong market for CNG fueling,” said Carl Galbraith, Questar Fueling general manager. “Our new station will be located near national trucking companies like Central Freight Lines and Swift Transportation that are incorporating more trucks using efficient, cleaner-burning natural gas. Our business is to make that transition as easy as possible.”

“Access to reliable, fast-fill CNG fueling stations near our facilities allows us to incorporate more efficient CNG trucks into our fleet,” said Don Orr, president and CEO of Central Freight Lines. “Currently, we’re operating 65 CNG trucks in Houston, along with 49 additional CNG vehicles throughout Texas. We are considering expanding our CNG fleet in other areas of our service footprint.”

The station site is near Interstate 10 in Phoenix’s transportation and trucking hub at 1001 S. 65th Ave. The new CNG-fueling station will be owned and operated by Salt Lake City-based Questar Fueling, which designs, builds and operates CNG stations for fleets.
