GoDaddy Creating Small Business Opportunities in Latin America

GoDaddy January 21, 2014

GoDaddy, the Web’s top platform for small businesses, is growing its presence in Latin America by offering customer support with native language speakers, and launching an entire suite of products to help small business owners and entrepreneurs thrive online.

With the full suite of GoDaddy products now localized in both Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese, small business owners can easily get a secure online identity by purchasing a domain name with SSL certificates and then build a professional online presence with GoDaddy Website Builder. GoDaddy now offers localized services and customer experience across Latin America, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela.

Leading the vision and strategy in the region, in a newly created position, is Rafael Fernandez MacGregor as GoDaddy’s Vice President of Latin America, who will be based in Mexico City. MacGregor, a Mexican national, has spent the majority of his professional career in the region in various industries and as an entrepreneur. Among other roles, he started and led Microsoft’s online business in Latin America and founded Blue Label Mexico, S.A. (Red Qiubo). MacGregor understands the opportunities and challenges in what’s considered one of the fastest-growing regions in the world.

“GoDaddy is creating new opportunities for small businesses in Latin America and making the business of operating a business easier, especially for the small business owner,” MacGregor said. “As a Latin American entrepreneur, I can tell you from experience, small business owners are the most innovative and dynamic job creators in the region, and anyone who has ever launched or run a small business here will tell you how hard it can be. GoDaddy is determined to help companies build and maintain an effective online presence easily and affordably.”

The GoDaddy mission is to radically shift the global economy toward small business by empowering people to easily start, confidently grow and successfully run their own ventures. GoDaddy is giving small and very small businesses, with one to five employees, what they need to succeed online. Whether it’s building a website or managing IT needs to help them thrive online, GoDaddy can help small business owners in Latin America and around the world leverage the power of the Internet.

Internationally, GoDaddy is poised to expand into 60 markets in 30 languages within the next 18 months. GoDaddy is also the first domain registrar to offer the new .UNO domain extensions for the Hispanic and Latino communities worldwide.

GoDaddy is the world’s largest provider of Web hosting, domain names and new SSL Certificates. GoDaddy operates data center facilities in North America, Europe and Asia, along with offices in India and Canada, as well as other cities throughout North America. The privately-held company is backed by KKR, Silver Lake Partners and Technology Crossover Ventures.
