Fox Restaurant Concepts (FRC), a local restaurant group encompassing 15 unique concepts, has sold its Sauce Pizza & Wine brand. A group led by Scott Kilpatrick, a local restaurateur and one of the founders of RA Sushi, will take ownership of the nine Sauce locations.
While Sauce is a beloved brand of founder Sam Fox, he and the FRC team are thrilled to turn it over to the familiar and capable hands of Kilpatrick, an experienced veteran in the industry who has demonstrated success in growing restaurants. “It’s difficult to let go of a concept that you’ve nurtured for more than a decade, but Sauce Pizza & Wine is in great hands,” said Fox. “We will remain huge fans of the brand, and I’m excited to see where Kilpatrick and his team take it in the future.”
The sale of Sauce Pizza & Wine marks another step in FRC’s innovation plans and allows the team to continue to create and incubate exciting new concepts. It will also let the company focus on growing up-and-coming brands like Flower Child as well as ones with dynamic growth like True Food Kitchen and North Italia.
Kilpatrick, who will serve as CEO of Sauce Pizza & Wine, was one of the founders of RA Sushi, which opened its first restaurant in 1997 in Scottsdale, Ariz. From there, Kilpatrick helped grow the popular sushi restaurant to 25 units nationwide. “Sauce Pizza & Wine is an exceptionally strong brand, and we see significant opportunity for growth. As we move forward, we are committed to making the quality of food and service our No. 1 priority. Most importantly, we are dedicated to the long-term success of Sauce Pizza & Wine,” said Kilpatrick.
Sauce Pizza & Wine opened its first location in 2003 and currently has nine units in Phoenix and Tucson with its latest one to open in Central Phoenix this coming year . The fast-casual eatery provides a dining solution for people of all ages with fresh and flavorful Italian fare, served in a casual and hip setting. The menu has a large variety of options, including gourmet pizzas, pastas, salads and affordably priced wines.
