Dixon Golf Recycles for Education

Dixon Golf  Oct. 28, 2014

Dixon Golf, manufacturers of the first high-performance eco-friendly golf balls, announced today an innovative partnership with Treasures 4 Teachers (T4T) to creatively recycle golf balls for educational purposes.

As part of Dixon Greenovations™, a program designed to provide solutions to reduce, reuse and recycle golf balls, Dixon Golf has created lesson plans for T4T that incorporate the use of recycled golf balls in various classroom projects to teach art, math and science.

“Creating lesson plans with recycled materials not only helps reduce our carbon footprint, but it educates the younger generation about practicing eco-friendly habits,” says William Carey CEO of Dixon Golf. “Treasures 4 Teachers is a first-rate organization that shares Dixon’s sustainable mission while providing support for our community’s valued teachers.”

Dixon Golf has pledged to donate hundreds of golf balls and help T4T construct additional lesson plans. Furthermore, corporate employees from Dixon’s headquarters have spent time volunteering with T4T by providing hands-on assistance at their warehouse.

“With Dixon’s support of donating, volunteering and creating educational kits with basic reused items like golf balls and egg cartons, they are giving teachers the ability to teach at a much higher level for much less money,” says Barbara Blalock, Founder of Treasures 4 Teachers. “In addition, surplus materials that were destined for the landfill are now being used in classrooms across the valley.”
