Arizona Interactive Marketing Association (AZIMA) and the Arizona chapter of Search Engine Marketing Professionals Organization (SEMPO) have struck a deal to join forces to create stronger, unified nonprofit associations for digital marketing professionals.
Under the arrangement, AZIMA will continue to be the organization of choice for all things interactive and strengthen its SEO offerings through its partnership with SEMPO AZ. SEMPO AZ will retain its charter and name. Two SEMPO AZ members will join AZIMA’s board and SEMPO AZ will provide access of its webinars to AZIMA members. In addition, AZIMA will run two search-focused events each year featuring high-profile speakers.
“AZIMA and SEMPO have similar goals, so it made sense for us to form a partnership,” said Stephen Heitz, AZIMA board president and managing director of interactive for Lavidge. “We see heavy search-focused companies retaining memberships in both organizations, mainly with SEMPO for the additional research and educational and certification opportunities provided by SEMPO.”
The first combined event of both organizations takes place on Thurs., Jan. 22 when Danny Sullivan, founder of Marketing Land and Search Engine Land and chief content officer for Third Door Media, presents “The State of Search.”
