“As governors are poised to re-open their economies there’s still much to learn about the novel Coronavirus. Have you been exposed, how strong is your immunity to fight recurrence, how long will existing immunity last, and how critical is antibody testing? If you are African American, these answers are even more concerning given the disproportionate rates of infection and fatality in different cities and states,” noted Charlene Tarver, Chair, Black AZ COVID-19 Task Force.

She added, “We’re grateful to have Dr. Maybank join us in discussion about navigating the pandemic, which includes the ability to access virtual care and testing.”

Edmond Baker, MD and Medical Director with Equality Health also commented.

“A longstanding disparity in access to quality healthcare is a driver of disparity in COVID-19 outcomes. This next webinar will explore, among other topics, how we open up access to connect more African Americans to more doctors, including black doctors. That is a vital part of the solution to improving our community’s long-term health,” Baker concluded.
