Free Healthy Worksite Wellness Training Returns this Week

City of Phoenix

FitPHX, the city’s healthy community initiative, is continuing its partnership with the Arizona Department of Health Services to provide the free Healthy Arizona Worksites Program (HAWP). The program dates to 2014 and resumes this month with a two-day, live, interactive training session offered through the Zoom app.

The class will be held Wednesday, October 28 and Thursday, October 29 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Those interested in participating can learn more and register at healthyAZworksites.org. A Zoom link will be provided after registering. Participants must complete both days of the training.

The training will provide education and resources related to the following topics:

  • How to design a comprehensive worksite wellness program that can improve the health of your business and employees during the COVID-19 Pandemic
  • Successful national and local employer efforts to improve employee and organizational health
  • How to apply for the Healthy Arizona Worksite Award

Employee health is good business, and participation in this training is the first step in becoming eligible for the Healthy Arizona Worksite Award and being recognized by the Arizona Department of Health Services. The Healthy Arizona Worksites Program (HAWP) is a statewide public health initiative developed through a partnership between the Arizona Department of Health Services and the Maricopa County Department of Public Health.
