Mountainside Fitness, Arizona’s largest locally-owned fitness center is proud to announce the first expansion into Southern Arizona with the opening of the three new locations in Tucson in 2026. The three new fitness centers are scheduled to open in mid to late 2026 at Oracle and Tangerine in the Oro Valley Marketplace, Old Vail and Houghton Road in the Houghton Towne Center, and Twin Peaks Road and I-10 within the planned Cascada retail center.
“We have discussed possible expansion into other areas of the state for some time,” said CEO Craig Cote. “With its health-minded community, Tucson was the logical choice for our expansion. We are looking forward to the grand openings of these three locations and being part of this vibrant southern Arizona city.”
The new location on Oracle and Tangerine within Oro Valley Marketplace (vacant Ashley Furniture) will offer 45,000 square feet of workout space. Similarly, the new facilities at Old Vail Rd and Twin Peaks Rd will include new construction and feature standalone buildings with adequate parking and access each at 40,000 square feet of space.
All three locations will offer both indoor and outdoor workout spaces, which is ideal for the temperate Tucson weather, along with state-of-the-art equipment, group fitness classes within three separate studios (70+ classes per week), interactive kids club, Hyrox functional training area, fully appointed locker rooms with steam rooms, infrared saunas, red light therapy, and showers, in addition to Mcafe, personal training and free towel service.
“Although we have not yet opened our new locations, the community response from local Tucson residents has been incredibly positive,” Cote said. “Most are already familiar with the Mountainside Fitness name and outstanding reputation, and we are happy to offer Tucson not one, not two, but three premier fitness centers. 2026 marks a special moment for our Mountainside team as we celebrate our 35th Anniversary.”
