Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce Supports Face Covering Mandates

Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce

The Board of Directors for the Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce formally approved a resolution supporting a local requirement that individuals wear facial coverings to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.  The mask regulation had been in place since June 19, 2020, when it was implemented via emergency proclamation by Mayor Lane.

On Monday, the Mayor rescinded that proclamation – though a Maricopa County mask regulation remains in effect for the time being.

Board members for the Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce, representing a broad range of sectors across our community encourage the City to maintain a mask requirement in Scottsdale.

Removal of a face covering mandate could have a negative repercussion on the health and wellbeing of our community and could potentially offset the progress made in combatting the Covid-19 virus.  Looking to best practices for our citizens and economy, we believe a mask mandate supports the tremendous efforts made by our residents, business owners, operators, and health care professionals to continue reduction of the spread of COVID-19.

The Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce is the largest business organization in Scottsdale, providing advocacy, education, networking, leadership, and exposure opportunities to our member businesses. The Chamber actively works to maintain Scottsdale’s high quality of life and create an environment where business innovation, excellence and entrepreneurship can thrive. Serving ALL of Scottsdale since 1947!
