Calcium, a digital health analytics company, to conduct a webinar on COVID-19 documentation management

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a great deal of confusion for employers and employees in organizations in both the public and private sectors. Organizations continue to make adjustments on the fly to match their health and safety guidelines with those of the public health experts at the local, county, state and federal levels. From implementing mandates in the workplace to creating safe, efficient and secure vaccination status documentation, employers have had to pivot their thinking and their policies on almost a monthly, if not weekly, basis.

Before the pandemic, maintaining employee records was always time consuming, but it was generally straightforward. There were privacy rights concerns that had to be addressed; security procedures for protecting sensitive information; and the physical collection, management and maintenance of the documentation that had to be handled. Today, with the increasing use of digital recordkeeping technology, it’s become a bit easier to maintain sensitive documents for employees, so employers remain compliant whether for safety, health and/or training purposes.

Information Sharing

Managing those types of documents in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and the various vaccination policies is the subject of a webinar conducted by Calcium, a leading digital health and analytics company based in Chicago. The webinar, Managing COVID-19 Documentation and Tracking Requirements in the Workplace, will be the first in a series of health-related documentation webinars Calcium will hold in 2022.

“This will be a great opportunity to help employers better understand the landscape they’re operating in when it comes to COVID-19-specific policies,” says Dawn Adams, president of HResults, a Wisconsin-based human resources and organizational development consulting firm and webinar presenter. “It’s been a confusing time and we hope to add some clarity to help them make the best decisions for their company and employees in light of the mandates, court challenges, and all of the other issues surrounding COVID-19 workplace policies.”

It’s vital that employers stay on top of the latest information from public health officials, the courts and regulatory agencies to help reduce anxiety among their employees. Sharing information is an important way to address concerns and create a safe work environment.

Meeting Challenges … with Technology

CEOs, human resources executives and managers and line managers have to face the challenges of creating and implementing the right policies for their company, employees, vendors and stakeholders. Because of the broad guidance from public health experts, it’s often been extremely difficult to meet these challenges in a clear, equitable way. Employees are expected to juggle their own health status and employers need to keep track of a myriad of records.

To make things easier, technology companies like Calcium have pioneered a suite of data management and analytics solutions. From daily pre-screening to test results management, these digital solutions have been an important way to overcome some of the compliance hurdles faced by employers and employees. Calcium has even included an add-on to its screening and tracking platform that has a HIPAA-compliant, secure vaccination card upload, free for all users. Combined, these applications provide employers with the means to collect, organize and track their employees’ testing and vaccination status.

No one is sure what the short-term future holds and how COVID-19 policies will evolve. Maintaining secure records and being nimble enough to change course as these policies do change will be an important step towards maintaining a safe and compliant workplace.
