This month we welcome guest presenter, Lacia Sommars, Program Analyst with our local Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Office of Field Policy and Management, presenting on Section 3 business registry. Section 3 aims to ensure that HUD-funded projects’ preference of employment, training and contracting opportunities be directed to businesses owned by, or that substantially employ, low- and very low- income individuals, particularly those who receive federal housing assistance. This session will introduce the purpose, benefits, eligibility criteria, and next steps for participating in Section 3.
