Tempe Chamber Business Excellence Awards Celebrating Large and Small Businesses of the Year

The Tempe Chamber of Commerce is proud to present the 22nd Annual State of the Chamber and Business Excellence Awards Thursday, June 30 from 11:30 am to 1 pm at the Embassy Suites Hotel,  located at 4400 S Rural Rd, Tempe, Arizona 85282.  The Tempe Chamber will recognize outstanding Chamber members celebrating those that go above and beyond making Tempe a great place to work and live.

Awards are earned by businesses that deliver exceptional customer service, employee development, community involvement and a unique vision.  “As we emerge from some very hard times for our businesses, it is inspiring and rewarding to be able to honor the Tempe business community which has proven to be innovative and tenacious in succeeding to persevere,” said Colin Diaz, President/CEO of the Tempe Chamber.

Three finalists in each category have been chosen by a Chamber selection committee comprised of former award winners.

Small Business of the Year Finalists

  • Laura’s Gourmet, LLC
  • Silverman Law Offices
  • Walker Bookstore (Mark My Words LLC)

Large Business of the Year Finalists

  • Carvana
  • The Centers for Habilitation (TCH)
  • Coleman Powersports

The winners will be announced at the June 30 event.  Other awards to be given out include Spirit of Tempe and Volunteer of the Year.

“This past year has been a test of our resilience, courage, togetherness and commitment. Our stars, including the Chamber staff, board , ambassadors and volunteers shone brightly in the darkness of uncertainty and challenges to build a better chamber that serves as the face of the community,” said outgoing Board Chair, Raveen Arora.  “I am truly humbled, honored and blessed to have been part of this team.”

Tempe Chamber Board Chair, Raveen Arora, owner of The Dhaba restaurant, will pass the gavel to Board Chair Elect, Megan Martin with Salt River Project.  Martin will oversee the board of directors through the 2022 – 2023 fiscal year.  “It is an honor to serve as the Chair of the Tempe Chamber of Commerce Board this year. I look forward to a productive collaboration with fellow Board Members and Chamber Staff towards fulfilling the chamber’s mission.  The Tempe Chamber is fortunate to count community-supporting businesses as members that have managed to grow in these unprecedented times, and that have made employee development a priority,” said Martin.

The Tempe Chamber will also give a recap of the past year focusing on major accomplishments in which the Chamber strengthened its position as a highly visible, trusted and influential organization at the forefront of advocating for business.
