Akos MD and Apricus Health, two innovative healthcare companies created by a group of prominent physicians, today announced their co-founder Dr. Kishlay Anand has been named the winner of a Gold Stevie® Award in the Entrepreneur of the Year, Health Products & Services category in The 19th Annual American Business Awards®. More than 3,800 nominations – a record number – from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories.

When he and his business partner Dr. Swaraj Singh, a vascular neurologist, co-founded Akos MD in 2016, they did so in response to what they saw as a health care system that was fragmented and not affordable or convenient. They sought to change that with a telehealth platform that provides a two-pronged approach comprised of virtual and in-person diagnosis and treatment. He and Dr. Singh later founded Apricus Health to shift the focus from reactive, episodic care to a continuous care relationship focused on preventive care solutions and chronic care management.
More than 250 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process to select this year’s Stevie Award winners.
