Staying Ahead of Arizona’s Changing Economy
In a rapidly changing economy, staying informed is no longer optional. It is an advantage. Through its Economic Update Series, the Chandler Chamber of Commerce brings together industry experts, business leaders and community stakeholders to examine the trends shaping Arizona’s future and what they mean for businesses across the East Valley.
Earlier this year, the Chamber’s Destination: Arizona Economic Update turned its attention to one of the state’s most important economic engines: tourism and hospitality. As the Phoenix metropolitan area experiences significant hotel and hospitality growth, the discussion explored how the industry’s continued expansion is influencing local businesses, workforce development and regional economic growth. Speakers from the Arizona Office of Tourism, Arizona Lodging & Tourism Association and Visit Chandler provided perspectives on the opportunities and challenges emerging as Arizona continues to strengthen its position as a destination for visitors, events and investment.
In August, the series shifted from where Arizona is growing to how business itself is changing. “The Instant Economy: How Automation Is Redefining Delivery and On-Demand Logistics” explored the technologies transforming how goods, services and information move. From artificial intelligence and autonomous systems to drone-enabled delivery and automated logistics networks, the program examined how rising expectations for speed and convenience are creating new opportunities while also changing workforce and infrastructure needs. Mary Foote, director of the Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity, served as the keynote speaker for the August luncheon.
Together, these conversations demonstrate the purpose of the Economic Update Series: helping Chandler-area businesses better understand the forces shaping Arizona’s economy today and prepare for what comes next.
The conversation is not over. Another Economic Update is planned for December, giving business leaders another opportunity to connect, learn and look ahead. Visit the Chandler Chamber of Commerce event calendar for upcoming details and registration information.
