After two successful years of saving more than 81 million gallons of water, Friends of the Verde River, in partnership with Salt River Project, are once again supporting local water conservation projects through the River Friendly Living Grants Program. This initiative provides funding for innovative water-saving projects that benefit homes, businesses, and crucial water ecosystems like the Verde River.
In response to the positive impact, SRP is contributing $52,000 for a third year to help fund grants for projects across the Phoenix Metro and Verde Valley areas.
Homeowners are eligible to apply for grants of up to $5,000; businesses and organizations are eligible for up to $10,000. Priority projects for SRP funding include irrigation efficiency, lawn removal, and commercial water conservation upgrades; however, diverse water stewardship projects will also be considered as part of the broader program.
“We are very grateful to have this ongoing partnership with Salt River Project,” said David Gressly, Executive Director of Friends of the Verde River. “This funding has greatly increased the capacity of our community to complete water conservation projects.
Support for this initiative advances SRP’s goal to conserve 5 billion gallons of water by 2035 through collaborative programs and partnerships.

Applications deadline is Oct. 31.
