Rose Law Group pc, Arizona’s largest woman-founded law firm, announced the addition of experienced probate attorney James X. Theut as Chair of the firm’s new Probate Law Department, further expanding the firm’s comprehensive legal services for individuals, families, fiduciaries, and business owners navigating complex estate and trust matters. Theut’s arrival and leadership of the Probate Law Department strengthens marks the launch of a dedicated probate practice at the firm, strengthening Rose Law Group’s ability to serve clients through every stage of wealth preservation, estate administration, and family legacy planning.
James brings extensive experience in estate and trust litigation, estate and trust administration, guardianship and conservatorship litigation, and professional fiduciary representation. He has successfully represented successor trustees, personal representatives, beneficiaries, and fiduciaries in some of Arizona’s most challenging probate disputes.
“Probate, trust, and other fiduciary matters are becoming more complex and more common across the state,” said Theut. “Clients need counsel who can guide the administration of trusts and estates, provide candid cost-benefit advice, and litigate contested matters when disputes cannot be resolved. Prior to joining Rose Law Group, Theut worked in probate, trust and estate planning at several prominent probate, trust, and estate firms throughout the Valley, where he built a reputation for achieving favorable results in estate controversy matters. Theut is known for his practical judgment, candor, and focus on cost-benefit analysis in helping clients administer trusts and estates, evaluate fiduciary issues, and litigate contested matters when necessary. In addition to litigation, he has significant experience in probate and trust administration and estate planning. He is admitted to practice in Arizona, Illinois, and the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona and is a member of the Scottsdale Bar Association, Maricopa County Bar Association, and American Bar Association. Theut was recently appointed a Judge Pro Tempore for Maricopa County Superior Court.
