The City of Phoenix has launched a new tool to help Phoenix guests and residents easily find parking when visiting downtown Phoenix. ParkPHX, a web-based application, is designed to provide easy access to information on all public parking facilities in one convenient location—helping users find parking based on what matters most to them, from cost to electric vehicle charging stations.

“We know when people come downtown, they are looking to catch a game, see a show or have a night out at our amazing restaurants,” said Jerry Harper, director of the Phoenix Convention Center, which manages the city-owned parking garages. “As the fifth-largest city in the country, our bustling downtown brings thousands of visitors and residents to events and attractions. ParkPHX will allow people to reserve their spot ahead of time and gives them more time to explore downtown—not search for parking.”

ParkPHX offers a comprehensive inventory of parking in downtown Phoenix and is a source of real-time parking information for drivers looking for daily, monthly or event parking, including valet services.
Along with information on each public parking facility, such as ADA access, EV inventory, and height limits, ParkPHX will also provide integrated parking reservations and dynamic pricing for participating partner facilities. The web-based application is intended to allow all demographics to easily access the tool. Those who don’t have smart phones or aren’t comfortable with that technology can still book ahead on a desktop. And those who are on an iPhone or Android can save it like an app, so it’s easy to access whenever they come downtown.

“Downtown is a vibrant area, and as such, there’s a constant flow of traffic at our parking garages, during peak events, spaces are always in high demand,” said April Truncellito, deputy director at the Phoenix Convention Center & Venues. “This tool will allow people the ability to plan ahead and never miss a moment of the action. The goal of this system is to make parking as simple and easy as possible, whether you’re looking for the closest spot, the most affordable option, or the amenities offered.”

This tool fits into the strategic plans of the City of Phoenix and is a key component of the updated Parking Master Plan. In gathering public feedback on the parking offerings downtown, the City heard from many people who were in search of a better online tool to find and reserve spaces.
