Formation Brewing, the latest concept from the team behind the award-winning Denver Beer Co., will officially open its doors in early 2025 in the heart of Phoenix’s vibrant Roosevelt Row neighborhood. Located at 925 N 5th St., between Taco Chelo and Le Du Thai, Formation Brewing will offer a welcoming space for craft beer enthusiasts and food lovers alike.
“We’ve been inspired by the landscape of Arizona and the energy of Roosevelt Row and we can’t wait to join the amazing local businesses here,” shared Charlie Berger, brewery founder “Our experience is all about bringing the Phoenix community together over fantastic craft beer and delicious food, served in a one-of-a-kind, welcoming space that inspires connection and unity.”
The brewery’s taproom will serve as a neighborhood gathering space, designed to foster connection and camaraderie over a cold pint. The brewery will also offer a full full food menu with a focus on hand-crafted Detroit-style pizza showcasing and highlighting specialties from local food purveyors.
Formation Brewing will open with 24 taps, that include four signature beers inspired by the Arizona desert: Cloud Drifter Hazy IPA, Desert Racer Pilsner, Sun Crest Tart Peach Ale, and Western Winds West Coast IPA. These beers will also be available in 12-ounce six packs to-go. Additionally, Formation will offer craft cifer and a specialty cocktail menu as well as non-alcoholic options, including several delicious flavors of house made Hop Water.
The interior of the Formation Brewing taproom was intentionally built to encourage conversation and connection. Alongside a sunken conversation area, there will also be a beautiful patio space and a second-level, perfect for parties and events.
“Formation Brewing is the culmination of 13 years of passion for and experience in brewing, events, and hospitality,” said Berger. “When it comes down to it, we want to be known as a go-to place that serves great beer, great food, and where people are happy to be—a place where people feel that strong sense of community and place.”
While Formation plans to open its doors in February of 2025, the grand opening celebration will occur on March 1, 2025. Open to the public, the event will feature live music, complimentary tastings, and exclusive giveaways. Additional details about the event will be shared soon.
Formation will be open Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to midnight and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
