“The trucking industry remains a crucial part of the U.S. economy, yet its complex entry requirements pose significant challenges for both new and experienced drivers. Complex vocabulary and nuanced credential requirements often go unexplained to workers, creating a significant barrier to entry,” said Eric Knott, CEO of FinePoint HR. “Trucking One Stop seeks to address these issues by providing clear, accessible information to help drivers navigate the industry’s demands.”
“We’re excited to partner with ASBA to launch this AI-powered platform designed to support aspiring truckers at every step of their journey,” said Sandra Watson, President and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority. “Truck drivers fill crucial logistics roles in support of Arizona’s high-tech advanced manufacturing sectors, and we thank all our partners including ASBA, Governor Hobbs, and the Arizona Legislature.”
The Trucking One Stop is supported by a $500,000 appropriation in Arizona’s Fiscal Year 2024 budget.
The U.S. trucking industry is currently facing a shortage of over 80,000 drivers, a figure that could rise to 160,000 by 2030 if left unaddressed. This shortage is worsened by widespread confusion over critical concepts, such as CDL requirements, endorsements, and various pay structures, as well as the complexities surrounding employer incentives. These knowledge gaps, coupled with retention challenges, have hindered workforce expansion. By providing clearer information and addressing these barriers, the industry can more effectively attract, develop, and retain qualified professionals, ultimately supporting its long-term growth.
ASBA invites you to explore to expand your options and embark on a journey in the trucking industry.
