The Arizona Small Business Association (ASBA) announced the distribution of $50,000 in scholarships to participants in the Growing Opportunities (GO) Program since 2023. This significant investment underscores ASBA’s commitment to empowering individuals impacted by the criminal legal system and fostering economic growth through entrepreneurship.
“The GO Program scholarship significantly advanced my professional and entrepreneurial goals by providing financial support for various aspects of Sober House Records and the Formerly Intoxicated Recovery Tour,” said GO mentee and scholarship recipient, Blake M.
ASBA is dedicated to being part of the solution by creating meaningful opportunities for system-impacted individuals and supporting them in launching and growing their businesses. This initiative aims to provide greater economic freedom and mobility, ultimately strengthening Arizona’s economy by creating new businesses, expanding existing ones, and connecting employers with qualified talent from underrepresented groups.
“The GO Program provided me with the equipment and business skills to begin and monetize my personal development podcast,” said GO mentee and scholarship recipient, George N.
Now completing its third year of programming, the GO Program has provided crucial business education and dedicated mentorship. Lucero Consulting Group, MentorCloud, Goodfinder, and Society for Human Resource Management of Greater Phoenix have been instrumental program partners, helping mentees to gain essential entrepreneurial skills, refine business concepts, and launch their own small businesses.
