18 New Bars and Restaurants in Downtown Phoenix

Spring is coming soon and in Downtown Phoenix restaurants are blooming on every corner.

Well on the way to becoming a foodie playground, there’s so many different cuisines to try from African to Cuban, and South American.

Owners of local favorites have opened new ventures and several food trucks have found permanent homes in Downtown venues. Here are 18 new restaurants and bars that have opened in Downtown Phoenix since November.

Chilte

A popular Downtown Phoenix farmers market taco stand has just had its grand opening inside the new Egyptian Motor Hotel. With a menu full of dishes with a unique take on traditional Mexican cuisine, Chilte is open daily for coffee and pastries during the day, dinner in the evening, and brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.

Coabana

This Cuban-inspired cocktail and tapas lounge has a menu that includes guava and cheese empanadas, pork masitas, and more. Owned by Whining Pig Enterprises, the company behind Pigtails, Rough Rider, and the new Teddy’s Preserve, Coabana is an intimate space that seats 50 guests. It is located at CityScape in Downtown Phoenix.

Cupbop

Need Korean BBQ in a cup? Same. Become a “cupbopper” at Cupbop where you can build a bowl with all your favorites. Don’t forget to shake before you eat.

Dialog

Whether you are in need of a quick gift or a cup of coffee you can find both and more at Dialog coffee bar and market. Dialog is also the Arizona retailer of furniture and interior decor brands Blu Dot, Bend Goods, Tom Dixon, and more.

Eden Rooftop Bar

Get a unique view of Downtown Phoenix from above at this new eclectic cocktail bar. Located at the Kimpton Hotel Palomar, Eden’s Executive Chef Alexander Robinson and Beverage Director Clint Spotleson have created a menu of craft cocktails and light yet hearty bites.

F.Y.P.M.

The owners of Killer Whale Sex Club have opened a new cocktail bar located inside Disco Dragon in the Roosevelt Row Arts District. According to its reservation website, all reservations are recommended and last for 90 minutes. The booking fee covers your welcome shot, first menu cocktail, welcome snack, and a seating charge. Walk-ins are welcome on a first-come, first-served bases.

Hamburguesas y Cervezas

This lively restaurant has a menu of all your faves including spice onion strings, stuffed jalapeños, a BBQ chicken torta, and a long list of hamburguesas.

Insomnia Cookies

It’s hard to walk past this new business once you smell warm cookies in the air. Located at CityScape, Insomnia Cookies is open late every day and has a wide variety of sweets. They also have vegan and gluten-free cookies.

Latha (coming soon)

From the owner of The Diaspora Collective comes the only African restaurant in Downtown Phoenix. Latha offers a menu of carefully sourced ingredients from local farms, as well as a selection of wine, beer, and spirits made and owned by Black artisans. The new restaurant will open later this month and is located inside the Silva House at Heritage Square.

Liar’s Club

Cocktails, beer, pizza, and good times. Located in the former home of Downtown Deli, the Liar’s Club is a neighborhood spot with a cocktail program by Colton Brock. The restaurant has service for lunch, dinner, and late nights. There’s also a DJ and a dance floor in the back.

Pour Bastards

Also from the owners of Killer Whale Sex Club, Disco Dragon, F.Y.P.M. comes the new bar Pour Bastards, which has a selection of modern cocktails and natural wines.

Sin Muerte

With the tagline “eat good, party hard” Sin Muerte boasts healthy conscience food that will “grow on you.” Their menu includes smoked ratatouille, mushroom fundido, corn pasta, and more.

Stemistry

Stemistry was started by 15-year-old Dylan Capshaw who in 2020 was a finalist for Time Magazine & Nickelodeon’s “Kid of the Year” award. Located inside the Teeter House at Heritage Square, Stemistry combines Dylan’s two passions: Flowers & Coffee. The coffee shop has an array of plants and a menu of breakfast, lunch, and pastries.

TasteBudzz

Open daily until 2 a.m. (and 4 a.m. on Saturdays) this new restaurant has a menu of American dishes including cheesesteaks, burgers, hot dogs, pizza, and more.

Teddy’s Preserve

Inspired by National Parks and the man who helped establish them, Teddy’s Preserve boasts a thoughtful cocktail program. From the creators of Rough Rider, Teddy’s Preserve offers a selection of craft beers, wines, and Operating Owner and Beverage Director Kyla Hein Hein’s cocktail expertise.  The menu also has a concise food menu that includes dishes like their “Return of the Mac Salad” and the “Messy Teddy” short rib sandwich.

Trophy Room

Leave your cell phone at the door. No really, lock it in the provided lock boxes and enjoy a unique dining experience at this intimate new cocktail bar. Trophy Room is the latest venture from the owners of Wren & Wolf and Chico Malo.

Que Sazon

Que Sazon started as a food truck run by chef Fabian Ocampo, it is now located inside the Teeter House at Heritage Square. This new South American cuisine and ceviche bar has a selection of tacos, empanadas, and more.

Rosso

From the owners of Pomo comes Rosso Italian, a new restaurant specializing in Italian cuisine with a modern twist. Located at CityScape, the up-scale restaurant includes a pet-friendly patio and bar seating.
