Accelerator for Women 40 and Older Opens Applications for 2022 Program

The RECREATE Action Tank, a business accelerator geared for women 40 and older, is now taking applications for 2022. The action tank is designed to serve as a complete one-stop-shop business and nonprofit building program for women, providing members with the laser-focus, tools and connections that will project their business or nonprofit from idea to launch.

Statistics show that millions of people are currently leaving their jobs in what has been dubbed “The Great Resignation ” (including 4.4 million alone in September 2021). According to CNBC, employees are leaving undesirable career environments in favor of higher wages, better working conditions and more mobility. RECREATE serves as the answer to the question, “What’s next for me?” that many women at this stage may be asking.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming the next group of women who are excited to share their visions with the world — and our program provides everything they need to make those dreams become reality,” says Co-Creator Kimberly Mylls, a serial entrepreneur who spent more than 20 years in marketing and advertising as well as in the field of leadership coaching, training and public speaking. She founded RECREATE with business partner Melissa Lamson, executive coach, author of six books and speaker who has built and run companies in the U.S. and Europe. “We’ve enjoyed the first program immensely and learned a lot about how to make the next one even better.”

With the success of the first program, which culminates with a pitch competition in January, Mylls and Lamson have opened the second action tank enrollment to female applicants ages 40 and over. RECREATE features one signature event or workshop each month, beginning with an orientation and Creation Pod set-up and culminating in a pitch event and celebration. Events are led by the founders as well as female industry experts who also provide individualized coaching throughout the course. Topics include vision, mission, building a business plan, sales and strategy, building a sales cycle, funding, IP protection, marketing strategy and digital marketing, and more.

Throughout the program, the women work with their Creation Pods to stay motivated and accountable, and social events are also scheduled to help the participants relax and think outside the box and simply have fun! The intensity of the workshops are balanced with the social events that encourage the women to “Let enjoyment lead.” through unique and engaging activities.
