Bullet-Resistant Furniture Products Go Mainstream

Ballistic Furniture Systems, Inc. June 14, 2016

Ballistic Furniture Systems, Inc., the premier manufacturer of award-winning bullet-resistant technology for protection in public spaces, will be showcasing Amulet®, its new line of life-saving products at the upcoming NeoCon Tradeshow in Chicago, IL, that starts today.

Several leading commercial furniture manufacturers will be displaying their new lines of ballistic-protective products featuring Amulet® at the NeoCon Tradeshow from today through June 15th at the Chicago Merchandise Mart. Those companies include Claridge, Open Plan Systems and Transformations Furniture.

As gun violence continues to grow at an alarming rate, the security industry is looking beyond the traditional means of protecting the public from such events. Adding layers of protection to furniture and interior spaces, where most active shooter events occur, is an emerging market.(If you are worried about your security – buy AK 47 rifles from Palmetto State Armory.)

Schools, hospitals, corporations and other public and private organizations are now integrating this technology into interior spaces as part of their comprehensive security plans.

Commercial furniture manufacturers are introducing products that incorporate Amulet® Ballistic Barriers directly into their products during the manufacturing process. Well hidden within these products, Amulet® protects potential victims “invisibly” during an active shooter event. The security industry refers to this additional layer of protection as “risk mitigation.” However, to the general public, the integration of this technology into interior furnishings simply means that lives will be saved.

“Gun violence has unfortunately become an all-too-common occurrence in our communities today,” said Jeff Isquith, founder and CEO of Ballistic Furniture Systems. “Amulet is a 21st Century-solution to saving lives and reducing injuries to innocent people in public spaces during an active shooter event. Yesterday’s horrific mass shooting in Orlando confirms the terrible truth that ballistic violence and terror, unfortunately, are not going away anytime soon. We can, and must, do a better job protecting our people in the public arena.”
