Just in time for the spooky season, the creators of the smash-hit Drunk Shakespeare are bringing back “Drunk Dracula” for a limited engagement in Phoenix this fall. Tickets go on sale Aug. 17, with performances running Sept. 24 through Nov. 1. One actor gets drunk, the rest try to survive, and Bram Stoker’s classic gets a boozy makeover that’s equal parts gothic and Halloween fun.
“Phoenix audiences embraced Drunk Dracula in a big way last season, so bringing it back was an easy decision,” said David Hudson, co-creator of Drunk Shakespeare. “Whether you’re a horror fan, a theater lover, or simply looking for a wildly entertaining night out, this show delivers a Halloween experience unlike anything else.”
This boozy, bloodthirsty twist on Bram Stoker’s classic tale returns to The Rose Theatre, located in the Arizona Center, 455 N. Third St., Suite 1010, in downtown Phoenix, from Sept. 24 through Nov. 1. Guests should note that the main entrance is located off North Third Street, just north of Van Buren Avenue.
After centuries of being cooped up in his creepy old castle, Transylvania’s thirstiest bachelor is in need of fresh blood to maintain his youthful looks and chiseled physique. Now he’s ready to take a giant bite out of Phoenix. Grab a drink and join history’s most famous vampire (sorry, Edward Cullen) for a spooky night of booze-infused laughs and theatrical mayhem.
Craft cocktails and snacks are available for purchase during all performances. A Royal Experience for Two is available for $500 and includes VIP throne seating, a bottle of champagne, handcrafted cocktails, delicious treats and the opportunity to influence the performance as the Count and Countess.
