Taliesin West, Frank Lloyd Wright’s winter home and desert laboratory, is elevating Scottsdale’s meetings and events landscape with a collection of architecturally significant venues designed to deliver one-of-a-kind experiences for groups seeking distinctive, world-class environments.
Set in the foothills of the McDowell Mountains and minutes from the city’s top resorts, Taliesin West offers indoor and outdoor spaces for corporate meetings, dinners, presentations, performances and wedding ceremonies for groups from 13 to 350. Each venue blends Wright’s iconic design principles with the surrounding Sonoran Desert, creating immersive settings that seamlessly connect architecture, nature and gathering.
Designated a National Historic Landmark and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Taliesin West features a range of distinctive venues:
- The Prow & Sunset Terrace: Overlooking Camelback Mountain and Scottsdale’s cityscape, the Prow offers sweeping desert views and a natural flow across three adjoining terrace areas. It’s an iconic setting for sunset receptions and open-air gatherings.
- The Music Pavilion & Pavilion Terrace: A versatile performance-ready space celebrated for its acoustics and privacy, the Music Pavilion features configurable curtained backdrops and an adjacent outdoor terrace ideal for bar service, registration or small receptions.
- Garden Squares: A flexible, large-capacity courtyard setting surrounded by Wright’s historic architecture and views of the McDowell Mountains, the Garden Squares is a customizable blank canvas for elegant dinners, celebrations and events both large and small.
- The Pergola: An intimate, semi-sheltered passageway adjacent to the Drafting Room and lush bougainvillea, the Pergola is easily adapted for family-style dining, lounge-style receptions or cocktail gatherings.
- The Cabaret: A signature Wright-designed theater with desert masonry walls, upholstered seating, and exceptional acoustics, the Cabaret is ideal for intimate performances, presentations and private dining.
- The Kiva: One of the earliest structures built on the property, the Kiva offers a private, atmospheric setting for small meetings, intimate dinners, creative sessions or executive gatherings.
“When you host an event at Taliesin West, you’re inviting guests into one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s most personal creations,” said Scott McDaniel, chief finance and administration officer at the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. “From the sweeping desert views to the intimate interiors, every space reflects Wright’s vision of harmony between built and natural environments, resulting in events that are both meaningful and memorable.”
Taliesin West’s in-house events team supports clients with venue coordination, vendor selection, logistics and day-of facilitation from load-in to load-out. Event hosts may also enhance guest experiences with a tour, including docent-led activations and access to select historic spaces.
