Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, the world’s largest contract chipmaker, announced a significant leadership change at its key U.S. subsidiary, TSMC Arizona Corporation. This development comes as the company continues to advance its ambitious manufacturing presence in the United States.
Effective July 1, 2025, Rick Cassidy stepped down from his roles as a Director and Chairman of TSMC Arizona Corporation. Cassidy has been a prominent figure in TSMC’s North American operations and a key part of the Arizona fab project, which is central to the company’s global expansion strategy and efforts to diversify the semiconductor supply chain.
Filling the vacancy on the Board of Directors, Rose Castanares was elected as a Director, also effective July 1, 2025. While the announcement specifies her election as a Director, it notably highlights the departure of Cassidy from both Director and Chairman roles, signaling a notable transition in the subsidiary’s top leadership.
TSMC Arizona is a critical component of TSMC’s long-term strategic vision, representing substantial investment and commitment to advanced manufacturing capabilities outside of Taiwan. Changes at this level are closely watched by investors seeking insights into the operational execution and strategic direction of these high-stakes projects.
