PEG Hospitality Group, a Utah-based, full-service hospitality company, announced that Eren Bicakci will serve as the property’s Captain, the brand’s take on the role of General Manager, and Jairah Ramirez will serve as the property’s Director of Sales. The Moxy Phoenix Downtown, an eclectic international hotel concept, is set to open its doors at the end of 2023.
The Moxy Phoenix Downtown is situated in the historic Luhrs Building and is located just steps from the Valley’s metro light rail, Footprint Center and Chase Field. The Moxy Phoenix Downtown will be the preferred choice for guests seeking proximity to the city’s bustling downtown business and entertainment hub.
“The appointment of Eren and Jairah will be an asset to the Moxy Phoenix Downtown team,” said Joe Madera, Regional Director of Operations at PEG Hospitality Group. “Their passion and diverse hospitality background make them assets when it comes to bringing the Moxy brand to life in this historic building.”
Bicakci has more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, receiving his start in hospitality overseas in Türkiye where he graduated from the University of Gaziantep,Türkiye with a degree in hotel, motel, and restaurant management. Bicakci spent the majority of his hospitality career in Anchorage, Alaska, beginning his career as a Front Desk Supervisor for Clarion and eventually working his way up to the General Manager position at the Courtyard by Marriott. After several years working for Marriott, Bicakci joined PEG Hospitality Group, as the opening General Manager, for their Hyatt Place Anchorage property.

With nearly a decade of hospitality experience, Ramirez started her career as the Director of Sales for the Hilton Garden Inn in Elko, Nev. While working at the hotel, she was able to gain
experience in sales, food and beverage, and mixology. In growing her career, she relocated to Utah and accepted the position of Director of Sales with the Hyatt Place Provo. While in this role, Ramirez’s greatest success was establishing key accounts for the hotel and creating relationships built on trust and loyalty with clients. She loved the hotel and community, but when the opportunity arose to open a new hotel, in a historic building, in a warm sunny state, she couldn’t pass up the opportunity.
