Family Promise of Greater Phoenix, a nonprofit organization that serves families with children who are currently homeless or at risk of experiencing homelessness, has named Lotus Kaplan as its new Chief Development Officer. In her new role, Kaplan will oversee operations of the organization’s development team, further enabling Family Promise to support more families across the Valley.

With her unique experience and expertise, Lotus can help the organization create a culture of positivity and teamwork,” said Ted Taylor, CEO at Family Promise of Greater Phoenix. “She understands our mission and truly embodies our values. She’s perfectly suited for a role that oversees the development and growth of our organization and its resources.”
As Chief Development Officer, Kaplan will oversee donor relations – working to communicate organizational goals, sharing the Family Promise story, and building relationships that encourage the allocation of more time and resources for support of families experiencing homelessness. Kaplan will also work to set policies and procedures in place designed to create a positive working environment that fosters collaboration and efficiency. These procedures will enable the organization’s departments to work collectively towards a single purpose and will highlight the bigger issues the company aims to solve.
In its efforts to support families experiencing homelessness, Family Promise emphasizes the importance of keeping the entire family together – including parents, children, and their pets. Using its community-based model, Family Promise relies on its interfaith network of volunteer religious congregations to shelter and feed the families they serve. Through the Family Promise program, parents are provided with resources designed to help families find sustainable jobs and permanent housing while the children attend school.

Since its launch in 2000, Family Promise has helped shelter and feed over 1,700 families in Maricopa County using its community-based model. With a rising homeless population across the Valley, Family Promise is also developing affordable housing communities that will offer low-income families a place to stay as they transition into permanent housing.
